Mount Beauty & District Community Bank Dederang Picnic Races
The Dederang Picnic Races have been a community tradition since 1865, raising funds for local projects through the efforts of dedicated volunteers. Set in the beautiful Kiewa Valley, the event has earned its place as one of the premier picnic race meetings in country Victoria, attracting spectators from across Australia.
The six-race program features the Milestone Dederang Cup and the Lloyd's Refrigeration Flying, followed by crowd favourites off the track; the thrilling Dederang Mile footrace and the popular Tug of War challenge.
More than just racing, the Dederang Picnic Races offer a full day of fun, fashions on the field, food, bars and live entertainment. There’s plenty to keep families entertained, including kids’ activities and live music. Marquee and umbrella packages are also available, making it the perfect outing for groups of friends, families, or corporate gatherings. For those wanting to stay close to the action, onsite camping is available with toilets and showers provided, we just ask for a donation to the club.
